Learn how web servers work!
Qualityhostonline 1 year review
It was shocking to me to get a top notch service from a relatively unknown host. I never expected them to be soo good. It all started from the day i had a chat with their customer support. They really impressed me with their willingneess to help out with any question i had to ask.
They have one of the best support i’ve ever encounted. They provider a 24 hour live chat, ticket system etc. Their 24 hour technical support claim is not a fluke. They are almost always online to answer you questions. Their ticket system is not slow either. Their replies are prompt.
To top it all up they have one of the cheapest reseller packages i’ve ever seen yet.

The Top Web Servers in the Market
This article
gives you an idea of what a?Web server is and what it does, and discusses the
top Web servers in the market. What makes a “top” Web server? The key aspects
include scalability, speed, security, availability and support for dynamic
modules.
What is a Web Server?
Your business
runs around the clock and around the world.?Your employees and your clients need
access to information stored your company’s computers.?With Web server software
you can set up a secure and dedicated server that provides access to anyone who
needs that information at their finger tips.?
The two simple
words “Web server” express a lot of concepts. Here are some of them:
??
A computer (physical) that
maintains software (logical) to store Web documents and makes them available
to the rest of the world.
?
A?software application that
uses the HyperText Transfer Protocol (HTTP). A Web server is usually run on a
computer that is connected to the Internet.
?
Something that hosts or
provides access to?content and responds to requests received from Web
browsers. Every Web Server has an IP address and usually a domain name (for
www.devshed.com).
?
An application that serves
Web pages to Web browsers using the HTTP protocol.
?
Server software that uses
HTTP to serve up HTML documents and any associated files and scripts when
requested by a client, such as a Web browser. Web servers are used on Web and
intranet sites.??
I hope the above
has gone some way toward explaining what a Web server is and what it does.?
?
In simple words, a
Web server receives requests from several clients (web browsers or other
applications) around the world and responds? with?information in the form of a
Web page.?If a Web server needs to do something to process the request, such as
access a database, this is known as?server side processing.?If no processing
takes place at the Web server, then it will directly render the item — as with
HTML in the form of Web pages, or?Web downloads such as?.zip files.
??
Some times, Web
server software will be configured in a dedicated manner on a single piece of
hardware to serve requests. This specific computer, then, would be called a Web
server?(from the view of network design considerations).?These types of Web
servers may also be?part of a cluster to provide high availability and speed.

What You Should Know Before Buying Web Hosting
live.besttechie.net – The web hosting market is over saturated and full of utterly horrible web hosts looking to rip you off with their horrendous services. I have compiled a list of tips and tricks to help you select the best host for you (and to keep you from being taken advantage of).
SimpleCDN is horrible
Timeline:
30 Oct 2009 4:08 AM – Ticket opened
30 Oct 2009 5:24 AM – Answer received
30 Oct 2009 5:28 AM – Subdomains provided
04 Nov 2009 3:19 AM – Asking how long it takes
05 Nov 2009 11:49 AM – Asking how long it takes
13 Nov 2009 6:04 AM – Asking how long it takes
13 Nov 2009 11:39 AM – Finally a reply, telling me that the subdomains should be changed
22 Nov 2009 8:24 AM – Confirmed the subdomains (they didn’t notify me of a ticket reply over e-mail, hence the delay)
28 Nov 2009 7:37 PM – Asking how long it takes
03 Dec 2009 7:22 PM – Asking how long it takes
03 Dec 2009 11:48 PM – Finally, it has been set up! (after > 1 month)
07 Dec 2009 3:18 AM – Problem reported
After some discussion (dozens of friends reported simplecdn being slower), I found the mistake (headers were not like i requested).
14 Dec 2009 2:39 AM – Problem found and reported
21 Dec 2009 6:56 AM – Asking how long it takes.
Basically, their performance is horrible and their support takes weeks to answer. We all know PayPal won’t care since it’s intangible, so what should I do?
I just want a refund and to go far, FAR away from this company.
Edit: Here is a log of the ticket.
